DUFFY ROLE MODEL ASSEMBLY

Image
On Wednesday we had our DUFFY ROLE MODEL ASSEMBLY and our school head boy and girl welcomed Mr Daniel Faitaua. Mr Daniel Faitaua spoke to us at assembly about how important it is for us to read. He shared how as a little oy he loved to read books. Some students received a Duffy book at assembly and we all got to take our Duffy books home later. Room 7 and 1 were lucky to get a photo with Mr Daniel Faitaua. THANK YOU DUFFY BOOKS IN HOMES!!

BLOW PAINTING

Image
We did BLOW PAINTING and we were amazed with how it looked. We had different colours of paint and we dipped a straw in the paint and blew the paint over the paper. We had to really blow hard for the paint to spread. The paint splashed. But sometimes it  was just a blob, so we blew the blob of   paint and it spread out.  The colours mixed and it looked lovely. COME TO SEE OUR PAINTING IN ROOM 1. THEY LOOK SUPER COOL!!

BELONGING

Image
We are learning about belonging and we got the names of our family members on the balloons. We are holding the balloons to show that our family belongs to us. We cut the balloons and glued them. We drew strings for the balloon. We are holding the balloons to show our family members belong to us.

Practising our Casey letter shapes

Image
We have been listening to the story of Casey the caterpillar and we can draw the shapes.....  open mouth, tall stick, wide open mouth, short stick, tunnel leaf, grasshopper leg, Sammy snake, twig and possum tail. We can make the shapes with playdough. We can draw the shapes with chalk on a blackboard too. We are learning to discriminate between letters. We are always looking closely and listening closely.
