Room 1 Blog 2018

We learned about keeping safe around dogs with Nick. He brought Fergie, the dog to our school so that we know what to do. Room 4 joined us in our class too. We watched and listened carefully. This is Fergie. Isn't he cute? When we see a dog we should never run. Nick told us to stand like a tree. We must not stare at a dog, just like we don't like if anyone stares at us. We looked at different pictures and we had to answer questions. We had a turn to touch Fergie and feel his soft coat. But first the rule is to ask the owner, which we did. Some of us were scared to touch Fergie but when we did it wasn't scary at all. At the end of the session we got an "Activity book" to take home. WE REALLY LOVED LEARNING ABOUT KEEPING SAFE WITH DOGS AND WATCHING FERGIE MOVE AROUND, BARK AND PLAY WITH HIS TOY.

We went to the LIFE EDUCATION CARAVAN and met Harold the giraffe. He came out of his room and he looked at us. He told us that we are special. We looked into a special book and we saw a special person in it. We saw ourselves in it. We are SPECIAL. We covered our faces and when we took our hands off we had our happy faces. We learned about "Warm fuzzies" and "Cold prickles". Warm fuzzies make us feel happy. While cold prickles make us feel sad or angry.

On Thursday morning we walked along with other classes to the JUMP. We had wrist bands and new socks to wear. We had to listen to instructions before we went on the different trampolines. Off we went on the fun trampolines. We can only run or jump in the areas. It was fun!! We liked the trampoline and hoop too. It was time to have lunch and so we did. After that we walked back to school. Thank you to all our parents who helped on the trip.

Today we did painting. We painted a garden scene. It had grass, flowers, sun and clouds. We love dipping our fingers in paint. While we paint we share the paint and the rag cloth with our class mates. We love what we did. They look super !
